FBI REPORTEDLY FIRES ANALYSTS BEHIND RICHMOND MEMO

The FBI has reportedly fired five employees connected with a controversial 2023 intelligence memo that tied white supremacist extremist ideology to traditionalist Catholic communities. The firings appear to be the first publicly confirmed terminations of employees directly involved in drafting and approving the memo.

BISHOPS MAKE FRIENDLY WAGERS ON NBA FINALS, STANLEY CUP

Archbishop Ronald Hicks of New York and Archbishop Gustavo García-Siller of San Antonio, Texas, have placed a friendly wager on the NBA finals, putting up New York bagels against Texas gift boxes as the New York Knicks and the San Antonio Spurs battle for the championship. Meanwhile, the archbishop of Las Vegas and the bishop of Raleigh, North Carolina, have made similar wagers as the Golden Knights and Hurricanes compete for the Stanley Cup.

ISRAELI FORCES ARREST CHRISTIAN STUDENT IN WEST BANK

Amid radical Jewish settler violence against Christians in the Holy Land, Israeli forces arrested Christian student Natalie Abu Dayyeh at gunpoint this week. Catholic and Lutheran advocates decried the incident, especially as Abu Dayyeh's family revealed they were unsure where she was being detained. Vatican News interviewed Palestinian human rights activist Ihab Hassan about the arrest. "This is not an isolated incident,” he warned. "This is a pattern.”

In honor of the completion of the main building of Barcelona’s Sagrada Família, the toy company LEGO has released its largest-ever set — a 12,060 piece model of the iconic basilica. The set was unveiled just days before Pope Leo’s planned inauguration of the Tower of Jesus Christ, the basilica’s tallest and most recently completed tower.

But before becoming pontiff, Pope Urban served as archdeacon of Liège, where the confessor of St. Juliana of Liège told the future pope about her idea of establishing the feast. So in a sense, the foundress of the feast is the mystic and canonized saint, Juliana of Liège.
