Archdiocese of New York to hold Catholic youth days at seminary

The Archdiocese of New York is set to host two Catholic youth days in September at St. Joseph’s Seminary in Yonkers. 

As part of the 2025 New York Catholic Youth Day, Cardinal Timothy Dolan will celebrate Mass Sept. 27 for high school students, and Bishop Joseph Espaillat will celebrate Mass on Sept. 28 for middle school students. 

The Archdiocese of New York’s website states that both events last from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and will include Mass, confession, music, talks, games, and lunch.

Youth ministers from the archdiocese, Ashley Aldrich and Brandon Morel, will emcee the event, and Pjeter Nilaj, the archdiocese’s youth ministry coordinator, will be the keynote speaker. Alverlis, a liturgical composer and singer-songwriter, will perform live at the youth days.

The event’s theme is “Taking Action as Pilgrims of Hope” and is inspired by the Jubilee Year of Hope, according to the site.

Teens will attend two talks,“God’s Mercy and the Hope of Confession” and “Agents of Christ’s Hope in the World.” They will also attend breakout workshops connecting the theme of hope to love and relationships, mental health, healing from the past, and reading the Bible.

Early bird registration ends Sept. 15, and late registration closes Sept. 19.
